What are wisdom teeth?

Wisdom teeth are the last set of adult molars to grow into the mouth. These molars usually erupt during a patient’s late teens or early 20’s. Most people grow in all 4 teeth, with 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. However, some people grow in only 2 or 3. If wisdom teeth grow in right, they can be valuable to the mouth and may not require removal. However, most people must get these teeth extracted in order to prevent damage to the mouth.
